Our fourth-grade students are ready to celebrate all they have learned in the Core Knowledge Unit - Changing Earth. Our Changing Earth Celebration focuses on the essential question: How do changes in the Earth's surface affect people, and how can we prepare for these changes?

You are cordially invited to join the kindergarten team in their classrooms from 8:15 to 8:35 A.M. the week of March 25th through 29th,  as we celebrate our youngest authors and all of their hard work this year. Students will share their most valued writing pieces from their kindergarten year at Windsor Charter Academy.

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Honor Roll Assembly for our third quarter will be held on Friday, April 12th, at 8:30 a.m. in the ES Gymnasium. Doors will open at 8:10 a.m

*Important: Please note that the front office is not considered an after-school pick-up location for daily pick-ups. Multiple visitors in the front office between 2:45 and 3:05 p.m. each day creates congestion and a safety concern for our students.

Windsor Charter Academy’s teachers want to ensure our incoming kindergarten students have a great start to the school year! On Thursday, April 25th, Windsor Charter Academy’s kindergarten teachers will work one-on-one with incoming kindergarten students to assess their level of basic kindergarten skills.

We are excited to start planning for the next school year! Windsor Charter Academy teachers and administrators are responsible for placing all children within a classroom environment that best suits their academic, social, and behavioral needs. Each year, a survey called the Learning Environment Input Form is made available to all elementary school parents in our newsletter.

Kindergarten, first, and second-grade students are excited to invite families to their music program on March 7th!  Each music program will last 20 minutes. Students will be dismissed from the gym after each performance. 

The 5th grade Student Council’s 3rd quarter service project was to sell Candy Grams for Valentine’s Day. With our families' generous support, we raised $1,275 for Children’s Hospital Colorado! Thank you to our Firebird community for being so generous and supporting a good cause!

The weather and temperature are monitored throughout the school day to determine if extreme weather conditions are forecasted. The weather in Colorado changes frequently, so It is essential that students are sent to school with appropriate clothing for cold weather conditions. Boots are encouraged for students when the field is covered in snow.

On Wednesday, March 6th, in honor of National Read Across America Day, we invite students and staff to come to school dressed as their favorite book characters!

We are excited to share with you that our school will be participating in “Kindergarten Bring Your Parent/Guardian to PE Week” from March 4th through March 8th.

It’s time for our Science Fair! Fifth-grade students will be presenting science fair projects on Friday, February 23rd. Parents are welcome to visit projects in the 5th-grade classrooms from 8:30 to 9:10 a.m. 

We now have a Kynd Kit Kiosk at the front entrance of our elementary school! Kynd Kiosks are like vending machines for volunteer projects. Each kiosk is filled with a Kynd Kit, which has volunteer activities and wellness kits that students and families can complete together.

Registration is now open for girls’ intramural basketball! Intramural basketball is open to 4th and 5th graders.

We encourage our families to only check students out of school for emergencies and appointments.  Checking a student out of school at the front office should be rare and not done daily.

We are seeking a volunteer to assist with our lost and found items. We would like a volunteer to come in every other week on Fridays and sort through lost and found items.

Our school is proud to offer Science Matters in America STEM enrichment activities. To register for a Science Matters class, please visit their website.

This is a friendly reminder to parents and students that no cell phones are allowed in the classrooms. Students may wear smart watches at school; however, students may not use their watch during the school day for text messaging, phone calls, or any other use unrelated to school. For more information, please review our guidelines outlined in our WCA Parent/Student Handbook.

The choir program at Windsor Charter Academy fosters a love of music from diverse cultures, time periods, and genres while educating and equipping our students in the study and execution of the musical performing arts. We strive to prepare students for a lifetime of musical experiences and personal enrichment!
