We wanted to remind families about the requirements for the cloth face coverings. Please ensure that the face covering your student is wearing meets all of the following criteria:
Covers the nose and mouth. Wearing them under the nose or chin is ineffective.
Is secured with ties or loops around the ears.
Includes multiple layers of fabric.
Fits snugly but comfortably against the side of the face.
Allows for breathing without restriction.
Is able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape.
We have become aware of an alteration that can be made to the gaiter-style masks and wanted to share this as an option for parents. If a gaiter mask consists of multiple layers of fabric and can be altered to secure around the student's ears as shown below, it can be an option that meets the criteria. Thank you for supporting our efforts to help prevent the spread of viruses in our buildings!
