Windsor Charter Academy is proud to be an AVID school! WCA teachers incorporate AVID strategies in our classrooms on a daily basis. AVID supports our school’s mission and vision of “empowering students to achieve academic excellence through critical thinking, character development, and a love for lifelong learning.”
To help promote the importance of AVID with our students, parents are asked to purchase an AVID t-shirt for their children in grades 3-5. The purchase of an AVID t-shirt is optional for students in grades K-2. Students can use their same AVID t-shirt throughout their elementary school experience. AVID t-shirts are worn once per month on AVID t-shirt days. If your child already has an AVID t-shirt, it is optional to order a new one. The cost is $10.00 per shirt. Students are encouraged to wear their AVID t-shirt on the second Monday of every month. In addition, students may be asked to wear them on other days throughout the year .
