Each year, Colorado state public schools participate in the October Student Count as required by the Colorado Department of Education. The purpose of this count is to determine an official number of students enrolled in each school. This year, the count will occur from September 24th through October 8th. Our school receives state funding based on the number of students present during this time period. State funding covers teacher salaries, instructional resources, and additional monies to support enrichment and extracurricular programs. One student in attendance translates into more than $8,000 in state funding.
This year, students will be counted whether they attend in-person or online. All Calvert, EdOptions, Courseware, and hybrid learners will need to log into their classes each day during this time period to be counted. Per WCA's Online Parent and Student Handbook, students are expected to engage in online learning during all designated school days. Please be sure that your student is present either in-person or online to ensure we receive our full amount of state funding!
