It’s that time of year again! All middle school students will receive their 2024-2025 registration forms in the next few weeks. Registration forms are due by February 29th to the middle school front office. Students should also register in Infinite Campus by February 29th. Your student will receive information on navigating this process, and we encourage you to have a conversation about registration! Additionally, WCA’s AVID Elective Application is now posted for the 2024-2025 school year. Applications can be found here. Current 6th and 7th Grade students' AVID applications are due by March 8th. Current 8th-grade AVID applications for the HS elective are due as soon as possible.

What is AVID?

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a 6th through 12th-grade course elective and school-wide support system designed to prepare students for college. The class focuses on equipping students with the skills they will need for college and as they begin their careers. Writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading are the main focus of the class. Students acquire the skills to be organized and become effective learners. AVID has a proven track record nationwide for bringing out the best in individuals and ensuring they are eligible and ready to enter a four-year college after high school graduation.
