Field Day: Schedule, Volunteer Opportunities, and Logistics

We are excited to host Field Day on May 17th! This year, our theme will be celebrating Olympic sports. This end-of-year event is a special tradition at our school!

Volunteer Opportunities

To successfully put on Field Day, volunteers are important! To sign up to volunteer for Field Day, please complete the SignUp Genius Form.  All volunteers must have a background check on file to participate. Most volunteers will be partnered up with another volunteer to lead the instructions and activities for a station. During the morning activities, some 5th graders will be volunteering and leading the stations with the adult volunteers.

Volunteers should plan to arrive by 8:00 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. in order to receive instructions prior to the beginning of the Field Day. Volunteers will check in through the front office. We appreciate your willingness to volunteer for this event!

General Information

Attire: Keeping with tradition, students are welcome to dress in athletic attire, attire that represents their classroom’s country, or as a twin with another student in their grade level. Please be cognizant of the weather and plan your child’s attire and sun protection accordingly.

The Day of the Event

Entering Field Day

All guests who have completed a background check will be permitted to enter through the open gate on the northeast corner of the school property. There will be a FastPass line and a non-FastPass line. If guests arrive without a background check, please enter the front office. To complete a background check, click here. Guests will rotate with their student’s class during the activities.

Exiting Field Day

Guests will be ask to exit through the northeast gate after the morning and/or afternoon sessions are complete.

Student Check-Out Process

Please keep in mind that instruction will occur before and after your child’s Field Day events; therefore, students will return to their classroom after their designated time. Parents are encouraged to pick up during the normal dismissal time at the end of the day.

If a parent would like to check their child out after the event, they will need to have an early dismissal slip from the classroom teacher. If the parent is only taking a student directly from the field area (not a classroom) and has a dismissal slip, they may exit out the northeast gate.

If a parent wishes to check out additional children who are back in their classrooms, please go to the child's classroom to collect the early dismissal slip from the teacher and then exit through the front office.

Inclement Weather

If Field Day plans need to be altered due to inclement weather, activities will be moved indoors and activities will be simplified for the available space.
