Mrs. Wilson
This is Mrs. Wilson's second year as director of elementary school education and eighth year at Windsor Charter Academy (WCA). She has also had the opportunity to serve as assistant principal, dean, and teacher. Mrs. Wilson has two children, a kindergartner and second grader who attend WCA. She and her family live in Windsor and enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, biking and swimming. Mrs. Wilson also loves participating in races throughout Northern Colorado and being a part of various WCA and Windsor community events. Mrs. Wilson beams with Firebird pride and a passion for ensuring that all students are educated, empowered, and equipped to reach their highest potential. She cannot wait for an incredible 2022-2023 school year with staff, students, and families!
Mrs. Moore
Mrs. Moore is incredibly happy to start her second year as assistant principal and eighth year at WCA. While at WCA, she has served as an instructional specialist and dean of students. Before coming to WCA, she taught in the Poudre School District for 21 years. Mrs. Moore and her husband, Mike, have two amazing daughters. Sydney is a 23-year-old CU graduate who is currently working in Denver and preparing to apply to law school this fall. Mia is 19 and attends Regis University where she is a biology/pre-med major and plays softball for the Rangers. When not at school, Mrs. Moore enjoys hiking, reading, spending time with family and friends, watching her daughter play softball, taking care of her great nephew, and enjoying her newest hobby - embroidery. Her favorite children's book is Knuffle Bunny. During her many years in education, Mrs. Moore’s “All Means All” philosophy has guided her work. She is focused on developing teacher effectiveness and supporting quality instruction and interventions to ensure students are educated, equipped, and empowered to be lifelong learners.
Mrs. Walston
Mrs. Walston is joining the office staff as the receptionist this year. Her family has been at WCA for the better part of 5 years and she has worked as a paraprofessional prior to this year. She and her husband live in Windsor with their three kids, and can usually be found driving them to and from a sports practice of some kind! Mrs. Walston enjoys shopping, crafting, and reading in her spare time. She is excited to be working with such a wonderful staff and looks forward to getting to know our Firebird families!
Ms. Winder
Ms. Winder is joining the counseling team as a student support teacher on special assignment (TOSA). This will be her seventh year with WCA. She loves to spend time with her four children playing games, being outdoors, and cheering them on during their sports and hobbies. Ms. Winder believes in life-long education and is excited to be able to get to know and support all of the amazing students and families at WCA.
Mrs. Kershaw
Mrs. Kershaw has been the school counselor at WCA for 3 years. She loves working at our school and teaching children life skills to help them recognize and manage their feelings. At school you will often see her giving out hugs in the hallway. She and her husband have been longtime residents of the Windsor community. They have 4 children of their own who have attended WCA. In Mrs. Kershaw's free time she enjoys staying active, being outdoors, and cheering on her children in any activity they choose to pursue. She is proud to be part of the Firebird Family and looks forward to a great school year ahead!
Mrs. Jones
This is Mrs. Jones’ second year as the dean of students at our elementary school and eighth year at WCA. Prior to her current role, she was a third grade teacher. In addition to her passion for education, Mrs. Jones is family and relationship oriented. She lives in Eaton with her husband and toddler, Declan. Her family can typically be found hiking, camping, or enjoying the mountains. She is devoted to the celebration of diverse learning needs and cultivating an environment of continuous learning for all staff and students. She is excited to have an amazing school year with her Firebird Family.
Mrs. Schmitz
Mrs. Schmitz is starting her fourth year working at WCA. Currently, she serves in the position of office manager. She lives in Windsor with her husband and two sons, who also attend WCA. In her free time she enjoys exploring Colorado, relaxing with a good book and road trips to visit family. She has enjoyed working at WCA getting to know the kids, staff, and school families. She is looking forward to continuing her support of our school community.
