Healthy School Meals for All Program
In November 2022, Colorado voters passed the Healthy School Meals for All program (Proposition FF). Below is a summary of what families should know about this program:
Breakfast and lunch will be free through the 2024-25 school year.
Meals will continue to be free for students who qualify for meal benefits. Although meals are free, eligible families still need to fill out the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application.
Please enter “Windsor Charter Academy” as the school district on the application.
Families who qualify may receive additional discounts on school fees, class materials, field trips, utilities, bus passes, and other municipality discounts.
WCA students still need to have active accounts on Linq Connect.
Although meals are free, second entrees, extra milk, snacks, and a la carte items need to be purchased separately. These purchases will be charged to the student’s meal account, or the student may pay with cash.
We anticipate an increase in participation next school year. To ensure meal service runs efficiently, our focus is to:
Ensure our kitchen sites are adequately staffed.
Make sure lunch lines move smoothly.
Examine lunch times so all students have enough time to eat.
Ensure that our students still receive farm-fresh, scratch-made meals.
