2021 WCA High School Summer Sports Camps

HS Girls’ Basketball Camp

  • Description: WCA Firebirds have the opportunity to work on their basketball skills this summer! This camp is open to anyone interested in trying out for the HS girls’ basketball team for the 2021-22 school year. During this camp, athletes will focus on offensive and defensive fundamentals, passing, dribbling, shooting, positioning, and individual/team development. Please wear athletic attire with court shoes. Also, please bring a water bottle. Masks must be worn at all times.

  • Dates: June 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th

  • Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

  • Location: WCA Middle and High School Gym

  • Grade Levels: All incoming 9th - 12th graders can participate.

  • Cost: $50

  • Registration & Payment: For summer camps, there is a two step process to register and pay.

    • To Register: Participants must register using this 8to18 Online registration platform. Please reach out to Ms. Yost if you have any questions about the registration process.

    • To Pay: Once registered via 8to18, please submit your payment online.

HS Boys’ Basketball Camp

  • Dates: There are two weeks of camps available. Both sessions are not required, but recommended.

    • Week 1: June 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th

    • Week 2: TBD

  • Times: 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

  • Location: WCA Middle and High School Gym

  • Grade Levels: All incoming 9th - 12th graders can participate.

  • Cost: $50 per week

Coed Volleyball Camp: Strength, Conditioning, and Skills Camp

  • Description: WCA Firebirds have the opportunity to work on their volleyball skills this summer! This camp is open to anyone interested in trying out for the boys’ or girls’ volleyball team for the 2021-22 school year. During this camp, athletes will focus on offensive and defensive fundamentals, serving, setting, spiking, positioning, and individual/team development. Please wear athletic attire with court shoes. Also, please bring a water bottle. Masks must be worn at all times.

  • Dates: June 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 8th, 9th, and 10th

  • Times: 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

  • Location: WCA Middle and High School Gym (June 3rd will be at the ES Gym)

  • Grade Levels: All incoming 9th - 12th graders can participate.

  • Cost: $50

This Week’s High School Athletics Update

Boys’ Volleyball

In preparation for the inaugural WCA Boys’ Volleyball Season, interested athletes will have the opportunity to participate in coed open gym sessions during the month of May. Participants are asked to be ready in athletic clothing and court shoes at the MS/HS gym from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The open gym dates are as follows:

  • 5/19/21

We are excited to launch our inaugural boys’ volleyball team! If your student is interested in playing boys’ volleyball, please make sure to attend our open gym sessions!


Girls’ Basketball

Starting Friday, May 7th, the MS/HS will be open from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for open gym practice sessions. These sessions are for girls who are already on the HS girls’ team and those that are interested in trying out.  Open gym sessions provide an opportunity to shoot and work on skills.  The gym will also be open on the remaining Tuesdays and Fridays in May until the end of the school year  from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Girls’ Volleyball

Open gyms sessions are available to any athlete not participating in another season. Open gym sessions will begin on May 3rd. Open gyms will be Monday and Wednesdays in May from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the MS/HS Gym. Please contact Coach Burroughs with any questions or for additional information.


VEX Robotics

WCA was very well represented at last weekend’s VEX Robotics Colorado State Championship. WCA had two teams qualify and participate this season. The PhyniX team did exceptionally well throughout the tournament and after an exciting, hard-fought battle, they came in second in the championship round. Please congratulate Tripp P., Hiram D., and Aiden L. on their outstanding finish to the VEX Robotics season.


Spring Sports Season information

Electronic Ticketing

Windsor Charter Academy’s Athletic Department is proud to announce a new partnership with Hometown Ticketing. Spectators and athletes will now have access to digital tickets to enter into sporting events. Tickets are free this year! In order to comply with COVID-19 regulations, all spectators must register for a ticket through our 8to18 tickets page. With our current state and county COVID-19 restrictions in place, we have built-in additional guidelines and procedures to make our events as safe as possible. Spectators will find detailed information on how WCA is managing our home athletic events in the WCA Athletics Home Event Guidelines.

Live-Streaming Home Games

When possible, WCA’s home games will be live-streamed on our WCA YouTube Channel:  https://www.youtube.com/c/wcafirebirds. In our first live-streamed game, we had over 500 viewers! We appreciate all of our families for joining in!

Registration

To be eligible to participate in high school athletics at WCA, student athlete's parent/guardian must register using this 8to18 Online registration platform.  Registration is currently open for volleyball, boys’ soccer, and girls’ soccer.
