Billing
WCA families will be receiving a bill for $25 from Aims Community College. This bill is to cover their administrative fee for the concurrent enrollment courses. The bill does say that Weld RE-4 students can disregard the bill but that only applies to Windsor and Severance High School. WCA students do need to pay this fee.
Tax Forms
Aims Community College sent out correspondence to students regarding several items, one of which is tax forms. Per IRS regulations, the college has to mail a W9-S IRS form to all students who do not have a Social Security Number (SSN) on file with the college for this tax year. Please note that the college is required by the IRS to do this and that no students are excluded. The college is mandated to mail these forms out to meet the due diligence requirement of the IRS.
We encourage students to submit the W9-S, but it’s not required. We would appreciate and highly recommend students to submit them, especially if they will claim any educational credits on their tax returns. If a student opts to complete and submit the form, it must be signed by the student, not the parent/guardian.
Again, students are not required to complete the form, but we recommend it, especially if the student or parent/guardian plans to claim educational credits on their taxes for any costs paid during the year for college courses. There is no fine or penalty for not returning the form.
Please direct all students to contact the Greeley Cashier's Office if the parent/student would like to submit the form, or if they have any questions or concerns. Parents/students will need to contact the IRS, a tax professional, or review IRS publication 970 if they have questions on educational credits.
The Cashier’s Office can be reached at 970-339-6349 or cashier@aims.edu. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact the Aims High School Programs Office at any time.
