This spring, all juniors will take the SAT at Windsor Charter Academy. This is a required assessment that is paid for by the Colorado Department of Education. There is no cost to families.
While all juniors are required to take the SAT, they do have the option of whether or not to take the essay portion of the test. All students, whether they choose to take the essay port of the test or not, must complete the essay determination form by February 5th.
Although the essay is not required, some colleges and universities do require the essay as part of their application process. It's important to note that the essay does not impact the score on the multiple choice section of the test; the student will receive a completely separate score for the essay.
