We are excited to invite the families of our new inductees to the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony on September 10th from 2:00 to 3:21 p.m. at the Firebird Facility. Join us as we celebrate the achievements of these exceptional students who have shown remarkable scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Registration for the PSAT/NMSQT opened on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Students should register for this optional exam if they are seeking National Merit Scholarship recognition and/or a National Merit Scholarship. This is the ONLY PSAT exam that will qualify students for the National Merit Recognition.  

Our Sources of Strength (SOS) team is preparing to celebrate a year of spreading positivity across our high school! If you would like to contribute funds or donations of food items such as fruit snacks, popcorn, Jolly Ranchers, and sugar-free drinks like water or soda water, please contact Mrs. Seneca.

Academic Support for high school students will be offered weekly on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. throughout the school year. During Academic Support, all teachers are in the building and available to support students.

Over the past few years, our IT department has observed a consistent rise in the number of damaged Chromebooks. Last year alone, they replaced over 100 screens due to user-related damage. The two most common causes of damage are carrying Chromebooks by their screens and dropping them.

Juniors will take the PSAT/SAT practice test on Friday, August 23rd. Once testing is complete, the school day will be over. There will be no school for seniors on Friday.

Join us on Tuesday, August 27th, at 5:30 p.m. in room 259 for the VEX Robotics Informational Meeting to kick off the 2024-2025 season! This mandatory meeting is for all new and returning team members and parents to discuss important updates, registration details, practice schedules, and team expectations for the upcoming season.

College Peak Advisors is offering a free college planning workshop at the Clearview Library in Windsor on Sunday, August 25th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Are you thinking about becoming an early childhood or an elementary school teacher? The University of Northern Colorado, in partnership with TEACH Colorado, is offering a free virtual information session on Wednesday, September 11th, at 4:00 p.m. Learn more about how to become a teacher in one of UNC’s supportive programs.

High school yearbooks are here! On May 8th, yearbooks will be distributed before school, during lunch, and after school. A limited number of books may be available for purchase on distribution day.

On May 22nd, all 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students will turn in their school-issued Chromebook and charger after their last final exam. Students with an off-block during Period 4 will turn in their device and charger to the Media Center after their last final. Each Chromebook has a blue and silver inventory tag with an asset number.

The STS Foundation Student Exchange is looking for a host family at Windsor Charter Academy for the 2024-2025 school year to host a 15-year-old student, Sergio, from Spain. He is a high school student arriving this summer, loves to play basketball, and describes himself as polite, sporty, and studious.

We are looking forward to Firebird Fest on May 21st! Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are invited to join us after school from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to enjoy games, inflatable slides, obstacle courses, a dunk tank, yearbook signing, and other events! All high school students need to be picked up by 12:30 p.m.

Does your student need additional volunteer hours to meet their yearly service requirement? If so, the Town of Windsor is hosting a Windsor Volunteer Fair on Saturday, April 27th! The event will take place at Boardwalk Park under the main pavilion from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

WCA's Middle & High School Fine Arts Department will host a Spring Music & Art Festival on May 9th! Enjoy live music performed by the middle school band and choir, followed by the high school wind ensemble, jazz band, and choir! Students will perform in MS Commons and the Gym. All students should wear the band/choir shirts and jeans.

High school students must complete 25 volunteer hours each year. Students need to record their hours on the Community Service Form, which is available in the front office. Forms are due to Mrs. Meister in the front office by May 1st. 

Windsor Charter Academy receives food bag donations from the Weld County Food Bank for students and families in need. We have an abundance of food bags to distribute.

Sources of Strength will launch a new campaign next week called The What Helps Me Campaign, which focuses on highlighting the strengths that help us cope or manage our emotions during times of stress.  

Students who fail a course will have the option of attending summer school. Parents will be notified in May if their student is recommended to enroll in summer school.

Final exams and end-of-the-year events are upon us! Please make sure to mark your calendars for our important upcoming events and early release dates on May 21st and 22nd.
