WCA Students Qualify for CHSAA 4A State Golf Tournament

Congratulations to Brentyn P., Landon B., and Kellen B. who all qualified for the CHSAA 4A State Golf Tournament! Brentyn, Landon, and Kellan play on the golf team at Windsor High School (WHS). The WHS team, who practice at Pelican Lakes, finished third in the Region 3 Tournament at Highland Hills in Greeley.  They didn’t qualify as a team, but the top two teams for each region automatically gain entry into the state competition, and all four Windsor boys on the team shot under the cut line of 81.

Windsor’s overall team score was 235 (22 over), third behind the regional champ Riverdale Ridge (231) and second place Niwot (233).  Senior Brentyn and junior Landon both shot 78 to tie for 7th place, and freshman Kellen fired a 79 to tie for 9th place.  This will be the third appearance at the Class 4A state event for Brentyn, the second time for Landon, and the first time for Kellen. Congratulations to the players and head coach Kenny Anderson, the Director of Player Development at Pelican Lakes, and assistant Coach Ryan Lococo, a 2-time state qualifier for Windsor in the early 2010’s. The Class 4A state tournament will be held Oct. 4-5, 2021 at City Park Golf Course in Denver. We are proud of our Firebirds!
