Middle School Weekly Athletics Update

Track and Field

Our first meet at Twin Peaks Charter Academy in Longmont went very well! We were so proud of our athletes’ hard work, sportsmanship, and willingness to try out new events.

This week, we want to highlight two outstanding student athletes:

  • Izzy R. had an incredible shot put throw of about 30 feet! Although results have not officially been released, she was most certainly a top thrower at the meet. Way to go, Izzy!

  • Jack F. took first in his heat for the 400 race! This is a tough race, as it requires both distance and sprinting skill. All of that extra practice paid off. We’re proud of you, Jack!

Our second meet will be at the same time and held at the same location:

  • Location: Twin Peaks Charter Academy in Longmont, CO

  • Time: Meet starts at 4:00 p.m.; please arrive at 3:30 p.m.

Our assistant coaches have worked really hard in such a short season. Cathy Fuller, Nicole Fellure, and Jessica Sazama have all worked hard on tasks like timing races, driving the bus, completing jersey inventory, registering students for events, and more! We really appreciate your hard work! In addition, we would like to recognize Sean Holt for being an incredible volunteer student coach this week. At our meet, he carried hurdles and timed races for four hours straight! Thank you so much, Sean!

Please contact Coach Smith if you have any questions.

MS Girls’ Soccer Update

MS Boys’ Soccer Update

Last week our boys’ soccer team defeated Knowledge Quest Academy in the quarter-final game and lost to New Vision Charter school in the semi-final game. Th boys’ team had a great season and finished third in the NCIL standings. Well done, gentleman! Congratulations on a great season!

The MS soccer team would like to honor Porter D. as the “Scheels Athlete of the Week!” Porter has shown exceptional dedication and leadership on the team. Porter is only a 6th grader so we are looking forward to many great seasons ahead! Great job, Porter!

The Season Banquet will be held on May 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the MS Commons. There is a $5.00 cover charge for all attendees to cover the cost of refreshments. Players should bring their washed jerseys to check them back into the school.

Congratulations on a fantastic season, Firebirds!

Electronic Ticketing

Windsor Charter Academy’s Athletic Department is proud to announce a new partnership with Hometown Ticketing. Spectators and athletes will now have access to digital tickets to enter into sporting events. Tickets are free this year! In order to comply with COVID-19 regulations, all spectators must register for a ticket through our 8to18 tickets page. With our current state and county COVID-19 restrictions in place, we have built-in additional guidelines and procedures to make our events as safe as possible. Spectators will find detailed information on how WCA is managing our home athletic events in the WCA Athletics Home Event Guidelines.

Spring Sport Information

Parents will need to create an 8to18 account in order to register for a sport.  All parents of athletes must complete an online registration form on our new software platform, 8to18, for each player.  Parents will need to create an account on 8to18 by following these instructions.  After an account is created, students will need to submit a sports physical and proof of medical insurance to the front office. Both of these forms can be downloaded from the 8to18 account during registration process.  Families also have the option of turning in a sports physical form provided by their doctor or other medical professional.

Please review our Parent & Athlete Information Video for more information on what parents and athletes need to complete before being able to participate in spring athletics.  Additionally, this presentation  includes the most current spectator information and COVID-19 health protocols.

We are excited to announce that WCA will be live streaming our home games as often as possible! Click here to view the live stream.

Lastly, please note that WCA has multiple job openings for coaches. If you or someone you know would be interested in coaching at WCA, please visit our website for more information on how to apply..

If you have any questions, please reach out to Lindsay Yost, Middle School Athletic Director.
