8th Grade Continuation Ceremony Live-Streamed Event
We are looking forward to celebrating our 8th grade students at the end of the school year! 8th grade Continuation will be on Wednesday, May 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Given the current COVID-19 guidelines, 8th grade students will participate in Continuation together in the gym, while parents and family members will have the opportunity to watch the live-streamed event via the WCA YouTube Channel.
8th Grade Dinner & Dance
After the Continuation Ceremony, students will be provided a dinner and then they will end the evening celebrating with the traditional 8th grade dance! The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and the dance begins at 7:00 p.m. The dinner and dance is a student event only. Parents are asked to purchase a ticket for their student to attend both the dinner and the dance. The evening will conclude at 8:30 p.m.
Tickets will be on sale until Monday, May 17th at 5:00 p.m.
We are in need of adult helpers to chaperone the dance and help with snacks, drinks, and supervision. Adult chaperones are required to wear a mask while in the building. Temperatures will be taken upon entry. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Mrs. Perciante.
Rose Ceremony
Windsor Charter Academy has a special tradition during our 8th Grade Continuation Ceremony in which students choose someone who has guided and supported them. That person is then honored with a rose during the Rose Ceremony. Since this year's ceremony will be virtual for parents and family members, we are asking that parents provide us with a brief paragraph with their advice for their student as they move into high school. Continuation Ceremony Slide Show
To celebrate our students, we are in the process of collecting pictures for our 8th grade students for their continuation video. One of the best elements of our Continuation Ceremony is the slideshow displaying pictures of our 8th graders at various stages of their childhood. Each 8th grade family is asked to submit three to four pictures of their student at varying ages: baby/toddler years, elementary school years, and a current photo. Please do not send in pictures with filters added as these will not be used in the video.
