As this school year comes to a close, summer is a great opportunity to make sure your child continues to progress academically! John Hopkins University studies show that students can lose three to five months of learning over the summer. When young minds sit idle for three months, the result is a phenomenon known as “summer learning loss” or the “summer slide.” Because of these learning losses teachers often spend the beginning of the school re-teaching forgotten information. Don’t let your child ride the summer slide! We have provided some great opportunities for students to stay sharp on their math skills, increase their problem solving skills, and have fun while doing it!
Fifth grade students are invited to participate in our Summer Math Enrichment Choice Board. Students can spend time on math skills through any of the listed on the Summer Math Enrichment Choice Board.
