CSU’s College of Business will once again be hosting the SPARK Innovation Conference for middle and high school students on October 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Richardson Design Center.

Join us for an evening of music on Tuesday, October 10th at 5:30 p.m. for our middle school fall music concert! Students have been working hard and learning new skills

Skillman Photography will be at the MS/HS on Wednesday, October 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for picture retakes. Forms will be available at the front desk.

We are so excited to be kicking off our Sources of Strength program with our middle school students again this year! With this program, WCA students will be able to identify what their Source of Strength is, continue to build their resiliency, and create positive connections with their peers.

Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences are approaching! These conferences will be held Thursday, October 12th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium. 

Join us for our middle and high school Scholastic Book Fair! The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the MS/HS Media Center from Wednesday, October 11th through Friday, October 13th. The Book Fair will be open before school, during lunch, and after school until 4:00 p.m.

Vision and Hearing Screenings for 7th graders will be conducted on Monday, October 9th. In order to accurately test your child's vision, please make sure they have their glasses with them at school on this upcoming date.

Our Sources of Strength (SOS) team is preparing to celebrate a year of spreading positivity across our middle school! If you would like to contribute funds or donations of food items such as fruit snacks, popcorn, Jolly Ranchers, and sugar-free drinks like water or soda water, please contact Mrs. Seneca

Our first middle school dance will be on Friday, September 29th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.!  Tickets will be sold for $5.00 (cash only). Students will be allowed to change after school and should follow the “casual dance” guidelines in the Dress Code Policy.

The MS/HS AVID Site Team will be hosting an Ice Cream Social for all MS/HS AVID elective students and their parents in the HS Courtyard from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 14th. We are excited to see our families there!

Students are welcome to wear college t-shirts every Friday. They may also wear jeans on Fridays for $1.00. All money collected will go towards supporting activities for students. Jeans may not be frayed or have holes.

Students who join Art Club are able to dive further into art-making! Art Club provides all students an opportunity to continue to explore various materials, develop their own style, learn about different artists, or try new media.

Mrs. Boyes’ is excited to welcome our middle school students back!

Students may by presented with a coupon for a Firebird Dress day when celebrating their birthday, earn Honor Roll status, score well on standardized assessments, or demonstrate The 8 Keys of Excellence in a superior way. These are not “Free Dress” days.

This is just a reminder that all artwork needs to be picked up by May 17th at 3:15 p.m. Pieces not retrieved by then will be discarded. Also, please have your student check the Lost & Found for anything that may be missing.

As this school year comes to a close, summer is a great opportunity to make sure your child continues to progress academically! John Hopkins University studies show that students can lose three to five months of learning over the summer.

Clearview Library District is hosting its Summer Adventure Program called “All Together Now.” Happy reading, Firebirds!

On May 17th (8th grade only) and May 18th (6th & 7th grades), all students will turn in their school-issued Chromebook and charger after their last final exam.

We are looking forward to the Firebird Fest on May 17th! All middle school students will enjoy lunch, games, inflatable slides, obstacle courses, a dunk tank, yearbook signing, and other events!
