Each week, our teachers nominate students to receive a Friday Firebird Award. This award is given to students who set a wonderful example by demonstrating The Eight Keys of Excellence!
Teal T., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! The 6th-grade team shared, "Teal is always smiling with a positive attitude. She exhibits a ‘This is it!’ mindset by making the most of every moment and advocating for herself by asking questions and seeking help when needed. Teal models ‘Speak with Good Purpose’ as she is kind, positive, and patient with all of her peers. Thank you for being such an outstanding Firebird, Teal!"
Dasan M., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! The 6th-grade team shared, "Dasan is a hard-working student who is a positive force in the classroom. He has strong inquiry skills and is always engaged in his learning. Dasan is happy to help those around him and always ‘Speaks with Good Purpose.’ He displays a ‘This is It!’ attitude every day and takes ‘Ownership’ of his academics. We are so blessed to have Dasan in 6th grade this year! Great job, Dasan!"
Asher B., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! The 7th-grade team shared, "Doing the right thing even when you're with your friends can be one of the most challenging situations faced in middle school. Asher makes it look easy as he consistently demonstrates the key of ‘This Is
It!’ focusing on the present moment and making the most of every class.

Kennedy B., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! The 7th-grade team shared, "Kennedy demonstrates true ‘Integrity’ in everything she does. She goes out of her way to help new students feel welcome in all of her classes and is always willing to lend a hand when others need support. She balances her schoolwork and sports with impressive responsibility and focus, showing her strong commitment to excellence. She takes ‘Ownership’ of her learning and communicates with kindness and purpose, making her a positive role model for everyone who interacts with her. We are proud of you, Kennedy!"
Asha L., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! The 8th-grade team shared, "Asha is a true example of The 8 Keys of Excellence. She has shown tremendous growth in all of her classes through consistent effort and determination. She makes our classes more fun, more positive, and a better place to be. Erick K., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! The 8th-grade team shared, "Eric is one of those students who cannot be deterred from being productive. In class, he exhibits quiet maturity that enables him to stay focused and productive from bell to bell. Eric prioritizes his assignments and strives to understand the material to the best of his abilities. In all his classes, he is one of the highest achievers, and this is due to his strong work ethic and drive to complete every task assigned. Eric speaks kindly. He makes the most of every minute in class, and as a result, he can support his peers while staying on top of his own tasks. He epitomizes what it means to have a ‘This Is It’ mentality, as he makes the most of every moment in school. For this, Eric deserves recognition for all his efforts as the Quarter 1 Firebird on Fire recipient. Great job, Eric!"
