Firebird Award Winners

Each week, our teachers nominate students to receive a Friday Firebird Award. This award is given to students who set a wonderful example by demonstrating The Eight Keys of Excellence!

Cormac M., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! His teachers shared, "Cormac has grown immensely this year in his leadership by taking ‘Ownership’ for his learning. He is someone who is willing to try something new with a growth mindset. He shows ‘Balance’ by balancing his academics with being a great teammate. You have become an amazing 6th-grade leader, Cormac! Excellent job!"


Emma S., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Her teachers shared, "Emma consistently demonstrates The 8 Keys of Excellence in 6th grade and is consistently curious. She is a hard worker who collaborates well with others and always asks thoughtful, insightful questions. Each day, she brings a smile and a positive attitude. She is kind to everyone and has a big heart. Emma is consistently on task, and her answers are well thought out. Amazing job, Emma! You are a Firebird on Fire!"


Carson F., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! His teachers shared, "Carson is a kind and hardworking student who consistently goes above and beyond in everything he does. He shows outstanding initiative in his classes and exemplifies The 8 Keys of Excellence through his positive attitude, responsibility, and dedication. Carson's leadership is especially evident in starting his own student Cup Stacking Club, creating a welcoming space for others to learn and grow. We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments. Congratulations, Carson!"


Emma W., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Her teachers shared, "Emma demonstrates unwavering excellence and a poised commitment to both the arts and academics. She embodies ‘Balance’ as she maintains academic distinction while flourishing creatively by performing in theatre, representing Windsor Charter Academy in the Doodle for Google Contest, and being selected to perform in the Colorado Middle School All-State Choir. Though Emma may be quiet in her successes, her accolades serve as a testament to her character and strength. Congratulations, Emma!"


Haven M., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Her teachers shared, "Haven truly makes our classrooms a better place to be! She goes out of her way to help others, especially in math, when it would be easy to finish her own work and move on. Instead, she takes the time to help classmates, explain her thinking, and make sure others feel confident and supported. She is responsible, respectful, and always willing to do what is asked of her. She works hard and genuinely wants to improve, even when challenged. Her positive attitude and willingness to help others make a big difference. Because of her, our classrooms feel more welcoming, encouraging, and supportive. She leads by example, showing what it means to be a Firebird. Congratulations, Haven!"


Wyatt N., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! His teachers shared, "Wyatt demonstrates exceptional ‘Commitment’ to both personal and academic growth. His innate curiosity drives him to look beyond the surface of every lesson, and he asks insightful questions that inspire those around him. His willingness to work reflects a grit and determination that ensure his continued success. We are so happy to celebrate Wyatt as an outstanding member of the Windsor Charter Academy community.
