Each week, our teachers nominate one student from each grade level to receive a Friday Firebird Award. This award is given to students who set a wonderful example by demonstrating The 8 Keys of Excellence!
Zoey P., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Mr. Montoya shared, "When another student was not ready to perform their song for class, Zoey offered to switch spots with them. She quickly got her piano out, practiced, and was ready to perform a whole class period earlier. Thank you for being a gracious Firebird, Zoey!"
Leila S., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Mr. Montoya shared, "Leila was nominated by her peers to be the 6th grade representative for choir. She is always on task, always willing to help others, and continues to grow as a strong singer. Thanks for being a great leader, Leila!"
Madilyn B., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Mr. Montoya shared, "Madilyn did an amazing job with her piano performance last week. She was committed to using practice time wisely to prepare and even offered to help her neighbors with their playing. Thanks for being a fantastic Firebird, Madilyn!"
Sophia P., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Mr. Koster shared, "Sophia is always participating. She has shown great improvement over the year and consistently shows the 8 Keys of Excellence in music. It is a treat having her in class. Great job, Sophia!"
Maddy A., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Mr. Koster shared, "Maddy joined band partway through the year. She demonstrated ‘Commitment’ by taking private lessons to catch up and surpass expectations for her ensemble. She is a leader for her peers and a joy to have in class. Awesome job, Maddy!"
Kylie K., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Mr. Koster shared, "Kylie has shown ‘Commitment’ to music by coming in after school to learn to play music on her primary instrument and other instruments. She demonstrates ‘Ownership’ by putting the time in at home to practice her instrument. Well done, Kylie!"
