Friday Firebird Awards

Each week, our teachers nominate one student from each grade level to receive a Friday Firebird Award. This award is given to students who set a wonderful example by demonstrating the 8 Keys of Excellence!

Maddox P., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Mr. Gallie shared, "Last week, we kicked off our first science seminar of the year, and Maddox absolutely crushed it! He stepped up with confident leadership, steered the conversation with ease, and encouraged active participation from his peers. His ability to engage everyone and keep the discussion flowing was very impressive. Outstanding work, Maddox!"


Cody G., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Ms. Miller and Mrs. Carrico shared, "Cody has shown ‘Commitment’ in completing his work during class! He pushes forward with determination and challenges himself. He willingly accepts help and feedback, which has shown in his work. Awesome job, Cody!"


Noah R., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Mrs. Becker shared, "Noah demonstrates ‘Integrity’ daily in science. He is consistently on task and works diligently to get his work turned in on time. He participates regularly and adds to the rigor of the classroom with his comments. He helps his table group when they are struggling with concepts. We are so lucky to have Noah in 7th grade science this year! Keep up the good work, Noah!"


Michael K., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird Award winner! Mrs. Munroe shared, "We love having Michael at WCA! Each day in science, he goes above and beyond participating, asking questions, and demonstrating a genuine interest in the content being presented. I appreciate his willingness to pose questions to seek more knowledge about the physical world. Keep up the hard work, Michael!"
