Each semester, students can be recognized for a unique award at our middle school - the Firebird on Fire Award. Students who receive a Firebird on Fire Award demonstrate The Eight Keys of Excellence!
Garrett L., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! His teachers shared, "This quarter, we are proud to recognize Garrett for his unwavering dedication, focus, and kindness. He exemplifies the ‘This Is It!’ key by staying fully engaged in every task, making the most of every learning opportunity, and always giving his best effort. Garrett is consistently on task, never misses an assignment, and approaches his work with determination and responsibility. His strong work ethic and kindness make him a role model for his peers, embodying what it means to be a Firebird on Fire. We are honored to celebrate his commitment and positive impact on our school community!”
Leila S., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! Her teachers shared, "This quarter, we are proud to recognize a Firebird who exemplifies curiosity, leadership, and a passion for learning. Leila leads by example, inspiring those around her through her dedication, kindness, and willingness to support others. Her insightful questions enrich class discussions, deepening everyone’s understanding. Through both her academic excellence and her supportive nature, Leila sets a positive tone in our community. She truly embodies The 8 Keys of Excellence and the spirit of a Firebird on Fire. We are thrilled to celebrate her contributions!
Camila M., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! Her teachers shared, "Camila is a shining example of The 8 Keys of Excellence, embodying its core principles in everything she does. With ‘Integrity’, she always does what's right even when no one is watching. Through ‘Speak with Good Purpose', Camila communicates with kindness and honesty, uplifting those around her. With ‘Commitment’, Camila follows through on her promises, demonstrating dedication to her academics and cheer. She practices ‘Ownership’, taking responsibility for her actions and choices. Keep it up, Camila!”
Kai S., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! His teachers shared, "Kai is a role model for all Firebirds. His ‘Failure Leads to Success’ mindset helps him embrace challenges as learning opportunities. He shows ‘This Is It!’ by staying present and making the most of every moment in every class. He shows ‘Flexibility’ to adapt to change with a positive attitude. We are so proud to have a Firebird like Kai!
Declan B., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! His teachers shared, "Declan is a positive force in every way. Whether he is uplifting a classmate or celebrating his successes, he is always upbeat and an example of optimism. He is constantly looking for ways to improve himself and uplift those around him. He is the first one to admit when he is not giving his best effort, and exemplifies the key of ‘Failure Leads to Success’ by rising above any difficulty he encounters with perseverance. One of the most amazing things about Declan is that he showcases these challenges to others in order to inspire them- he does not hide from these challenges, but uses them as motivation to grow and be a stronger person. He is often seen asking how he can do better on his assignments, and encourages others to do their best as well. He doesn't back down in the face of adversity but shows commitment by always pushing through to be his best self. The eighth-grade team is thrilled to celebrate Declan!"
Charleigh B., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! Her teachers shared, "Charleigh is exceptionally hard working, brings an outstanding attitude to class, and always works to improve. She consistently exemplifies The 8 Keys of Excellence in all her classes. Her positive energy brightens every room, and her determination to improve is inspiring to both her teachers and classmates. Maria B., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! Her teachers shared, "We are so proud of how much Maria has grown since the beginning of the year. Maria has shown such positivity through the third quarter in her dedication towards her work in class and with her peers, and is such an uplifting friend and student. Maria has not only shown the key of ‘Commitment’ in turning in her assignments, but also in ensuring that all of her work is done in an exemplary way. While Maria does not always love to be in the spotlight, she is a force of good in whatever room she is in. She is a quiet leader through her examples of integrity and patience, and is a positive light in the lives of those around her.
