Firebird on Fire Awards

Each semester, students can be recognized for a unique award at our middle school - the Firebird on Fire Award. Students who receive a Firebird on Fire Award demonstrate The Eight Keys of Excellence!

Jonah G., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! His teachers shared, "Jonah exemplifies ‘Speaking with Good Purpose’ and ‘Commitment’ through his consistent, thoughtful interactions and dedication to learning. Jonah stands out for his politeness, kindness, and genuine curiosity, consistently asking thought-provoking, out-of-the-box questions that inspire deeper thinking among his peers. Always engaged and supportive, Jonah leads by example, showing his team the power of respect, curiosity, and positive influence. He is an outstanding role model and embodies the best qualities of a true leader and a Firebird on Fire.”


Janelle M., a 6th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! Her teachers shared, "Janelle is a new Firebird who is being recognized for her exceptional curiosity, leadership, and dedication to learning. Janelle stands out for consistently asking thoughtful questions that enrich class discussions and deepen understanding. Known for her kindness and willingness to help others, Janelle sets a positive example, inspiring peers with her academic excellence and supportive nature. Janelle truly embodies The Eight Keys of Excellence and what it means to be a Firebird on Fire. We are proud to honor her as a role model in our community!”


Colin C., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! His teachers shared, "Colin has made a positive impact at WCA in the first quarter as a new student. He is dedicated to The Eight Keys of Excellence. He goes above and beyond, helps others whenever needed, and sets an inspiring example for his classmates. He is hard-working, kind, and committed to his schoolwork and sports. Thank you for making our school a brighter and better place, Colin!"


Riley B., a 7th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! Her teachers shared, "Riley displays The Eight Keys of Excellence daily at WCA. She consistently goes above and beyond on assignments and is committed to all of her classes. She consistently exemplifies ‘Speaking with Good Purpose’ in the halls, when collaborating on a group project, or when helping her classmates who may be struggling. We are lucky to have Riley at WCA. Keep up the great work, Riley!"


Gage C., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! His teachers shared, "Gage is always willing to pitch in when needed. He consistently helps his peers when they need help. He is able to work with anyone, and shows the keys of ‘Flexibility’ and ‘This is It!’ He does all of this while staying up to date with his schoolwork. The 8th-grade team appreciates his can-do attitude and hard work. Congratulations, Gage!


Jovi A., an 8th grader, was recognized as a Firebird on Fire Award winner! Her teachers shared, "Jovi truly embodies what it means to display The Eight Keys of Excellence. Her dedication to staying caught up when absent, kindness toward others, and positive attitude in every class set a powerful example for everyone around her. Not only does she do what is required of her, but she goes above and beyond by speaking confidently to the board, staff, and parents about our math curriculum, showing courage and leadership.
