Federal Requirements for Masks on Public Conveyances

In January 2021, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued a federal order stating that masks are required to be worn on all public conveyances, including school busses and passenger vans. Windsor Charter Academy utilizes busses and passenger vans to transport students on field trips, athletic events, competitions, etc.

As approved by the Windsor Charter Academy Executive Board of Directors at Tuesday night’s Board meeting, when riding on a bus or a passenger van, all students will be required to wear a mask. This requirement will begin to be enforced on Monday, September 27th.

In addition, if students are traveling to a location that requires masks upon entry (e.g. a university, medical facility, etc.) students will be required to wear a mask. If a student chooses to not wear a mask, they will not be allowed on the bus or be permitted to enter a facility that requires a mask. Alternative plans can be made for students who choose not to wear a mask. For questions, please reach out to your school principal.
