Our HS VEX Robotics team were awarded two tournament championship trophies over the last two weeks! At the Colorado Early College Fort Collins VEX Robotics tournament, our teams “Phynix” and “Only Temporary” both made it to the finals. Our third team “Controlled Chaos” was knocked out by Only Temporary in the semi-finals by 11 points.
Team Phynix won the tournament with a 6-point victory and qualified for both the Colorado State tournament and the U.S. Open! Overall, team Phynix finished 5th in qualifiers with a record of 4 wins and 1 loss. Additionally, team Phynix won the Judges Award for their stellar team interview. Team Only Temporary and team Controlled Chaos had 3 wins and 2 losses during qualifiers, ranking them 9th and 13th place, respectively.
Last weekend at the Roosevelt High School VEX Robotics tournament, team Phynix made it to the finals and team Only Temporary made it to the semi-finals. In the finals, team Phynix earned one of the highest scoring matches of the day. They had 3 wins and 2 losses in qualifiers, ending up in 11th place. Team Only Temporary and team Controlled Chaos had a tougher set of matches through qualifiers and ended with 1 win and 4 losses. Perseverance was key! Team Phynix and team Only Temporary showed their grit as they worked their way towards finals!
This Saturday our VEX team will be hosting a tournament and we encourage everyone to attend! The event is free and open to the public. Come support our teams and see our two-time tournament champion team Phynix try to go for a third tournament win! Team Controlled Chaos and team Only Temporary will be in the running for their tournament championship as a win has narrowly eluded them the past couple of weeks.
