Cyber Security and Sexting Parent Information Night

Our school is committed to the safety of all of our students and families. The WCA Safety Committee is hosting a Cyber Security and Sexting Parent Information Night on Wednesday, February 26th from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in room 184 at our high school. This event is part of our Safety Committee’s monthly parent information seminar series, focusing on a variety of safety topics.

Presenters from the Weld County and Larimer County District Attorney’s Offices, along with Irene Nissen, WCA Director of Innovation, will provide vital information regarding how we can keep our children safe in our digital world.

The internet has drastically changed the way that children engage with the world. The internet provides dynamic opportunities to connect with others, but also introduces risks, including: cyber bullying, exposure to inappropriate material, online predators, sexting, and over-sharing of personal information.

This presentation is meant to introduce parents to the issues surrounding their children's online lives and provides discussion prompts to help families begin a dialogue about cyber safety. While this will be an introductory discussion, some of the topics that will be discussed include: social media sites and apps, cell phones, cyber bullying, gaming, online privacy, sexting, and sexual solicitation by online predators.

No registration is required for this event. We look forward to seeing you there!
