The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) recently released their Annual Report on Concurrent Enrollment in Colorado. WCA is excited to be a part of our state’s growing concurrent enrollment programs!

We will be offering Picture Retake Day for Group A, Group B and our Online Courseware Learners. Skillman order forms can be picked up in the front office.

Each year, Colorado state public schools participate in the October Student Count as required by the Colorado Department of Education. The purpose of this count is to determine an official number of students enrolled in each school. This year, the count will occur from September 24th through October 8th. Our school receives state funding based on the number of students present during this time period.

Windsor Charter Academy is incredibly proud of Kate R., our first National Merit Scholarship semifinalist! National Merit Scholarship semifinalists have an exemplary academic record and have among the highest test scores in the state.

Seniors who have signed up to take the SAT this fall will be taking this test on Wednesday, September 23rd.

We are celebrating our Class of 2021 during the week of September 21st! Student Council and WCA administration have several activities planned for our seniors during this week. It has been a WCA tradition for seniors to paint an old pair of jeans/overalls to create senior-themed spirit wear.

Jostens will be set up in our HS parking lot on Tuesday, September 22nd and Thursday, September 24th from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. to deliver student graduation orders

WCA is excited to launch it’s first High School Athletics Booster Club! WCA Athletics Booster Club is a volunteer-run organization that provides direct support to our WCA Firebird athletes. The first meeting of our Booster Club will be conducted via Zoom on September 16, 2020 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

WCA students are excited to kick-off their 2020-2021 VEX Robotics season! VEX Robotics’ mission is to increase student interest and involvement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by engaging students in hands-on, affordable, and sustainable robotics engineering programs. WCA students will compete with hundreds of thousands of students from across the globe united in their passion for STEM!

At the start of the school year, we received a generous donation from Great Western Petroleum! With the funds provided by Great Western Petrolum, WCA was able to purchase PREPWORKS SAT/ACT prep program for all WCA freshmen, sophomores, and juniors!

Out of respect for surrounding businesses, please do not use Logistics Drive or business parking lots as a pick-up location for your student.

Student Council is hosting a $1 dress down day for both Group A and Group B. Group A students can dress down for $1 on Mondays and Group B students can dress down for $1 on Fridays.

WCA will begin enforcing use of acceptable face coverings only.

Students who have a D and/or F in any course, including electives, will be required to attend after-school detention in the HS commons from 3:10 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays (Group A) and Thursdays (Group B).

The WCA Education Committee serves to strengthen the overall educational program of our schools. This committee assists the administrator and teachers in providing all WCA students with the highest quality educational program possible by researching new and existing curricular and instructional approaches and evaluating and synthesizing information.
