Windsor Charter Academy will be participating in Colorado Gives Day! On Tuesday, December 7th, WCA families can be a part of a statewide movement to celebrate philanthropy through online giving. By making a donation to our school, you can join the thousands of Coloradoans on this day of giving!
Last year, we launched our “Grow and Thrive” campaign with the goal of raising $300,000 over five years. This year’s goal is to raise $60,000. Funds raised will go towards installing artificial turf at our elementary school, in the field between the blacktop and the mulched playground.
Recess on our playground offers children opportunities to play, exercise, and enjoy fresh air and sunshine! Because we believe that recess is an important part of the school day, we plan to install artificial turf for our elementary school playground. We believe that this is important for many reasons:
Safety is our priority. Artificial turf offers greater protection and can cushion a fall in play spaces.
Artificial turf is cleaner. With so many little feet on our playground, natural grass quickly turns to dirt and mud. This not only can stain clothing, but also creates slippery places that cause accidents. Artificial turf will lengthen our time that carpets need to be replaced, with less dirt and mud tracked into our school.
Artificial turf is tough and long-lasting and remains nice looking for a long period of time.
Artificial turf is maintenance-free. With artificial turf, grass will no longer require mowing or watering. This is a time saving and supports water conservation.
All funds raised during Colorado Gives Day will go directly towards our “Grow and Thrive” campaign. Please consider making a donation to seed this multi-year campaign to make improvements to our school. Remember, many employers offer opportunities for matching donations! All donations are tax deductible, whether they are made through WCA’s Colorado Gives webpage, or through check payments made directly to our Business Office. We appreciate your long-term commitment to improving our school for our current and future Firebirds!
