Charter Advocacy: Anti-Charter Bill Introduced

As a publicly-funded charter school, Windsor Charter Academy is impacted by legislation that is introduced and discussed at a state and national level. As a parent of a charter school student, it is important to be aware of how legislation can directly impact our schools and our students.

This week, House Bill 1295 was officially introduced at the Colorado State Capitol. If passed, this would be a damaging bill that would significantly hurt public charter schools by making it virtually impossible to challenge district decisions against them.

Please take two minutes to learn more about the bill and add your voice to the thousands of charter school families, staff and supporters telling legislators to vote ‘no’ on this dangerous proposal.

Windsor Charter Academy is a member of the Colorado League of Charter Schools. Recently, the League created the ACT Advocacy Network to encourage families and supporters of charter schools to advocate at the state level. The League’s advocacy efforts are focused on state policy, district initiatives, and on electing school board members and state legislators who agree that all Colorado children deserve access to high-quality public school options, including charter schools.
