**In order to make this event a success, we are still in need of a fire ring and acrylic paint. If a family is able to donate these items by tomorrow, we would be very appreciative!
Windsor Charter Academy has been offered the opportunity to run the Community Corn Maze again this year! The maze will be open on Friday, October 27th and Saturday, October 28th. All funds collected will directly support the Windsor Charter Academy High School Theatre Program.
Water Valley & RainDance Metro District residents, as well as Windsor Charter Academy families, are inivted to attend!
We are asking for various donations from our Firebird Families, including: pumpkins, face paint, concession items, decorations, costumes, and toys/trinkets. More details regarding how to donate can be found on the Corn Maze SignUp Genius. Remember, for every $10 in donations, families can earn one volunteer hour.
Corn Maze Information:
The Water Valley Corn Maze is located just east of Ted’s Sweetwater Grill & Trout Pond.
From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., stations will be geared toward younger kids and families, i.e., Halloween stories, crafts, hot chocolate, popcorn, etc.
From 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., stations will be geared toward a slightly older crowd with props that are more frightening and intended to scare.
The HS Theatre Club will be operating the corn maze activities. Please reach out to meggan.bilotte@windsorcharteracademy.org if you are interested in participating as an actor at the corn maze.
Donated Items Needed for Maze:
If a student brings in a donation, they can earn a Free Dress Day Pass (Firebird Dress Day at the MS).
Concession Items - Any type of snack, candy, water, soda, etc. that can be sold to visitors at the corn maze.
Toys/Trinkets/Stickers - Any type of Halloween candy or small trinkets/toys to hand out to visitors. These will be mainly for younger children earlier in the evenings.
Popcorn Kernels - WCA has a popcorn machine that will be used at the corn maze. We are in need of popcorn kernels and oil for the popcorn machine.
Baby Wipes/Paper Towels - Any size quantity of baby wipes and paper towels are needed for clean up.
Pumpkins - Lots and lots of pumpkins are needed for the entrance area as well as for the inside of the maze. Donated pumpkins can earn extra volunteer hours. Three volunteer hours can be earned for one large pumpkin or five small pumpkins.
Face Paint - Any type of face paint, kits, supplies that can be used to paint children’s faces.
Acrylic Paint - Any type of paint/supplies that can be used to paint pumpkins.
Costumes/Props - Any and all costumes and props that could be donated for use by older students and adults; these can be scary or not scary.
Firewood - Bundles of firewood are needed for the firepits at the corn maze.
Covered Trailer - We are in need of one small covered/lockable trailer that can be parked at the high school ASAP to store supplies and then driven to the corn maze on 10/27 and picked up on 10/29. This donation will satisfy a family's entire volunteer requirement for the year. Please contact mia.dellanini@windsorcharteracademy.org if interested.
All donated items can be dropped off at the high school office. Items are needed by 10:00 a.m. on October 27th.
All donations can be counted towards volunteer hours. Remember, every $10 donated is an equivalent of one hour of volunteer time.
