An Increase in Student Mental Health Concerns

The Windsor Charter Academy Counseling Department is seeing an increase in student mental health concerns and hospitalizations across the K-12 grade levels. Knowing when and where to seek help for a mental health concern is important for both parents and students. Please reference our webpage for local and national resources. Here are some important action items to help support your student:

  • Consider having your child add important contact numbers in their cell phone. Emergency or crisis hotlines are available on our webpage.

  • Review the trusted adults your child has in their life. Children can turn to trusted adults if they are struggling with a mental health concern or if they know someone else who is struggling.

  • Ask your child to set up a meeting with their school counselor. Counselors can provide an atmosphere of trust and confidence with all students and families.
