Veterans Day at Windsor Charter Academy
Veterans Day is always a cherished tradition at Windsor Charter Academy! This year, our students came together to honor the brave members of the military who have served our country through heartfelt ceremonies and performances.
At the elementary school, Mrs. Seyboldt led our youngest Firebirds in a moving series of songs and performances, showcasing their gratitude. Students added a personal touch by delivering handmade cards to veterans and active service members in attendance.
The National Honor Society hosted an afternoon ceremony at the Firebird Facility, followed by a reception to recognize and connect with our distinguished veteran guests.
Many of our Board members joined us to celebrate the veterans in our community! Thank you to all the presenters and participants who made the day special—and to our veterans, we are forever grateful for your courage, sacrifice, and service to our nation!
Spring Executive Board Elections
Windsor Charter Academy will be holding elections for the Executive Board this spring! If you are interested in running for the Board, it is time to prepare now. Potential candidates must have attended a minimum of two Board meetings in the year of their intended candidacy or volunteered for a minimum of thirty-five hours within the twelve months before their candidacy. Volunteer hours can either be served at WCA or at another organization that can verify service hours. We will begin seeking applicants next spring!
Election Committee
In February 2025, we will begin seeking volunteers to serve on our Election Committee. Committee members will be responsible for helping to coordinate the election process, ensuring candidates complete their applications, and volunteering on the day of the election. As an Election Committee member, parents have the opportunity to be involved in an important function of our school!
Engage with the Colorado League of Charter Schools
Windsor Charter Academy is an active member of the Colorado League of Charter Schools. Each year, the League creates an annual agenda of legislative priorities that shape public policy and opinion that favors charter school quality, growth, and funding equity. Their Government Affairs Committee and Board of Directors release their annual policy agenda and regularly provide updates on legislative matters.
The League’s Act for Charters Today (ACT) Advocacy Network is where charter school families, parents, students, and staff can advocate for charter schools throughout the state. Click here to learn more about the ACT Network and stay engaged!
