If your student has a 504 Plan and is taking an Aims Community College course, please remember the plan must be approved by Aims for accommodations to be provided in college courses.

Mr. Dave Olson, our amazing math and science tutor, will be returning to WCA this school year! Mr. Olson is a former college instructor who can assist students in all math courses and most science courses.

Many of you have heard that one of our former Spanish teachers, Lara Demaree, passed away on Sunday. Lara made an amazing impact on all of the staff and students at WCA.

Please join us on Thursday, September 2nd at 6:00 p.m. for a short Junior Class Parent Meeting. This meeting has been moved to Zoom so you can join from home. Both students and parents are encouraged to attend.

We invite all of our seniors and their parents to a meeting on Thursday, August 19th at 6:30 p.m in the MS/HS gym. During this meeting we will share the senior year timeline.

High school students will have a testing schedule on Tuesday, August 24th and Wednesday, August 25th so that we can give all of our 9th-11th grade students practice PSAT and SAT tests. Seniors do not have to report to school until 10:00 on these days.

Yearbooks will be distributed to high school students (excluding seniors) on May 19th from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. If your student bought a yearbook, they received a yearbook ticket within the last few weeks.

We are excited to share that Aims Community College, one of our partners, is offering free tuition to all Colorado residents living in the Aims Community College Tax District.

We are excited to launch our inaugural boys’ volleyball team! If your student is interested in playing boys’ volleyball, please make sure to attend our open gym sessions!

We are looking forward to the Firebird Fest on May 19th! Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are invited to join us after school from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m. to enjoy lunch, games, inflatable slides, obstacle courses, a dunk tank, yearbook signing, and other events!

Last week, Windsor Charter Academy Early College High School hosted its first annual Summer Internship Fair!

Windsor Charter Academy’s HS Student Council is hosting Morp (prom spelled backwards) on May 1st from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the MS/HS gymnasium. This event is only open to WCA 9th and 10th graders.

We are getting closer to graduation! Please let us know if you have any questions as you and your senior prepare for this special occasion!

On May 20th, all in-person 9th-11th grade students will turn in their school-issued Chromebook and charger after their last final exam. Students with an off-block during Period 3 will turn in their device and charger during Period 1.

The end of the year is quickly approaching! We are making plans to assist students who will need to make up credits this summer in order to stay on track for graduation. The enrollment cost for credit recovery summer school is normally $150. This year, we will be using COVID-19 relief funds to fund our summer school program which means there will be no cost to families.

Windsor Charter Academy’s middle and high school students are excited to host their first band concert! The Spring Concert will be held on May 6th in the MS/HS gym. Tickets are free but reservations must be made in advance through our online ticketing system.

The high school theater production of Pride & Prejudice has been postponed. As soon as a new date and time are confirmed, we will immediately notify parents, students, and ticketholders.

At WCA, we empower our students to increase help-seeking behaviors and decrease secrecy and codes of silence.

The Senior Meeting has been moved to April 30th at 1:30 p.m. Seniors should bring their Chromebooks and complete the Senior Exit Survey. Students will also nominate the Key Bearer for this year.
