We proudly celebrate our WCA Middle School students who competed in the first-ever Northern Colorado Open Cup Stacking Championship! Representing Windsor Charter Academy with focus, speed, and sportsmanship, these students showcased their skills in this fast-paced competition.

Last Friday, we concluded our support of the Serve 6.8 March Madness Food Drive. In total, WCA Middle School students donated 1,638 food items. That number far exceeded our goal of 1,000 items!

As we gear up for CMAS and end-of-year testing, it would be fitting to touch on self-esteem and positive self-talk. Whether we are in the midst of a busy time of year or just navigating middle school, self-esteem and the way our students talk to themselves play a crucial role in their overall well-being, academic success, and social interactions.

Congratulations to our 3rd Quarter Honor Roll recipients! These students will be recognized at school and receive a coupon for a “Firebird Dress Day”, to be used on Tuesday, April 22nd. 

In March, WCA middle school students presented their final performance at the Band & Choir Spring Concert! Xander D., a 7th grader in Bella Voce, the middle school choir, performed a solo during the song “Take Me Home, Country Road” by John Denver.

Middle school is a whirlwind of change, and a significant part involves navigating the complex world of friendships and peer pressure. As parents and guardians, you play a crucial role in helping your child develop healthy social skills and make sound decisions.

Students at Windsor Charter Academy will be taking their Colorado Measures of Academic Success  (CMAS) tests in April!  CMAS tests are meaningful and relevant assessments that support rigorous academic standards. The state’s summative tests measure students’ mastery of grade-level standards and growth over time. 

On Monday, March 17th students are welcome to celebrate St Patrick’s Day by wearing green.  Students who wear green may also have a Free Jeans Day. 

On Tuesday, March 11th at 5:30 p.m., middle school music students will show off their hard work by performing musical works for their family and friends! All are welcome to attend an evening of musical entertainment. The performance will be in the Middle School Gymnasium.

Windsor Charter Academy’s Middle School Spring Dance will be held on Friday, March 14th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.!  Tickets will be sold for $5.00 (cash only).  Students will receive popcorn and a water bottle with their admission fee, and other snacks/drinks will be available for $1.00 (cash only).

The Middle School Parent-Teacher Club (PTC) is seeking volunteers to support our students, teachers, and school events! Our PTC works to enrich our school community, fosters strong parent-teacher engagement, and cultivates WCA’s culture and climate through school events.

Middle school is a time of growth, learning, and new opportunities, but it can also be overwhelming as students juggle school, extracurricular activities, and social time. As we look forward to the warmer weather and the school year’s end quickly approaching, it is a good time to remind us all about balance.

Coach Bruce Dick will host Beyond Sports: Presidents’ Day Basketball Camp on Monday, February 17th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Windsor Recreation Center Auxiliary Gym. The camp is $35 per person and is open to 1st through 8th graders. Click here to register!

It’s that time of year again! Middle school students have received their registration forms for the 2025-2026 school year. Registration forms and Infinite Campus registration are due by February 3rd to the middle school front office.

Mark your calendars! Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place on Thursday, February 13th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the middle school gymnasium. Conferences will follow an open-house format, allowing families to meet with teachers at their convenience.

The countdown is on! This is the last month of ordering to guarantee your student receives a yearbook. We will order a few extra copies to sell at the end of the year. If you want to ensure your student receives a yearbook, please place your order by January 31st!

Attention all 8th graders! Join us for an exciting night of basketball at the Firebird Facility on Tuesday, January 21st, as the Firebirds take on Strasburg High School! This is an excellent opportunity to experience the high school sports atmosphere and cheer on the Firebirds!
