Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences are approaching! These conferences will be held on Thursday, October 10th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the middle school gymnasium. Conferences are in an open-house format.

Bullying is a reality that most schools face, and there are often misconceptions about what bullying actually is. Educating ourselves and our students on the difference between conflict, a mean moment, and bullying is crucial.

Vision & Hearing Screenings will be conducted on Tuesday, October 1st, for all 7th-grade students. In order to accurately test your child's vision, please make sure they have their glasses with them at school on this day.

Windsor Charter Academy has established a Middle School Firebird News Crew! All middle school students are invited to join our team. Students will report on sports games, performing arts productions, and other after-school events!

Firebird Dress Days can occur when students celebrate their birthday, earn Honor Roll, earn a reward, score well on standardized assessments, or demonstrate the 8 Keys of Excellence in a superior way. These are not “free dress” days. Students participating in a “Firebird Dress” day should still abide by the rules outlined in our handbook.

The MS/HS AVID Site Team will be hosting an Ice Cream Social and Open House for all MS/HS AVID elective students and their parents/siblings! The event will be held in the HS Commons (Firebird Facility) from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25th.

Hello, and welcome back! I hope that everyone had a relaxing summer break. For those families who are new to WCA, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Boyes, and I am the middle school counselor.

Students are invited to join the Orchestra Club! this club provides students with an opportunity to start learning a stringed instrument. Students can choose from violin, viola, cello, or double bass. Rehearsals will build technique, musicianship, and connections between students of all grade levels as they learn to play fun string orchestra music and arrangements, culminating in a performance.

Over the past few years, our IT department has observed a consistent rise in the number of damaged Chromebooks. Last year alone, they replaced over 100 screens due to user-related damage. The two most common causes of damage are carrying Chromebooks by their screens and dropping them.

Join us on Tuesday, August 27th, at 5:30 p.m. in room 259 for the VEX Robotics Informational Meeting to kick off the 2024-2025 season! This mandatory meeting is for all new and returning team members and parents to discuss important updates, registration details, practice schedules, and team expectations for the upcoming season.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Taking care of our mental health is important – for kids and adults! Here’s some information about mental health and how you can support your child’s mental well-being. 

Is your student interested in joining the MS Cross Country team? If so, our coaches will offer optional practices every Monday and Wednesday morning from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the middle school starting on June 17th!

We are asking for snack donations for our 8th-grade students to enjoy after their field trip on Monday, May 13th.  If you are interested in helping, please sign up here.

All students will turn in their school-issued Chromebook and charger after their final exam on May 21st (8th grade only) and May 22nd (6th & 7th grades). Each Chromebook has a blue and silver inventory tag with an asset number.

Does your student need additional volunteer hours to meet their yearly service requirement? If so, the Town of Windsor is hosting a Windsor Volunteer Fair on Saturday, April 27th! The event will take place at Boardwalk Park under the main pavilion from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

WCA's Middle & High School Fine Arts Department will host a Spring Music & Art Festival on May 9th! Enjoy live music performed by the middle school band and choir, followed by the high school wind ensemble, jazz band, and choir! Students will perform in MS Commons and the Gym. All students should wear the band/choir shirts and jeans.
