Seal of Biliteracy
The Seal of Biliteracy is an endorsement a school or school district gives to recognize students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. The seal appears on the transcript or diploma of the graduating senior. This honor encourages students to pursue biliteracy, celebrates their linguistic accomplishments, and serves as an asset for future employment and college admissions.
The Seal of Biliteracy:
Motivates students to engage in language learning.
Certifies biliteracy, highlighting students’ proficiency in multiple languages.
Honors the diversity and richness of languages within our community.
Assists employers in identifying candidates with high-level literacy across languages.
Helps universities recognize applicants with advanced language skills.
Prepares students with essential 21st-century skills for a globalized workforce.
Builds stronger connections among different cultures and languages in our community.
Through the Seal of Biliteracy, we empower students with the language skills they need to thrive in a global society while celebrating the cultural diversity that strengthens our community.
