As a reminder, when checking students in and out during the school day a parent/guardian needs to accompany their student to the building. When checking a student out, a parent/guardian will need to provide a photo ID.

We are excited to celebrate Halloween! Middle school students may wear costumes on Friday, October 30th but must follow the guidelines listed below. Friday is not considered a free dress day so if students are not in costume, they should follow the regular dress code.

All middle school students are welcome to participate in free jeans day on Fridays. As a reminder, jeans should not have holes or be frayed.

Windsor Charter Academy is proud to celebrate College Week! We will celebrate our strong college-going culture and continue to encourage students to think about their college and career plans. Students can celebrate with us by dressing up each day of the week.

WCA staff and administration have been intentional and thoughtful in our safety plans as we transition to four days of in-person learning. Students and staff will continue to adhere to health and safety protocols by wearing masks, cleaning surface areas, and hand sanitization.

Online schooling during COVID-19 has has drastically changed the amount of time children spend on the internet. The internet provides dynamic opportunities to learn and connect with others, but also introduces risks, including: cyber bullying, exposure to inappropriate material, online predators, sexting, and over-sharing of personal information. During this seminar, Robb Miller, Assistant District Attorney at the Weld County District Attorney's Office, will provide vital information regarding how parents can keep their children safe in the digital world.

Teens have access to trending apps and can share online experiences, not only with friends but with strangers. It is so easy for a young person to find themselves in an unsafe or unhealthy situation on the internet.

As we move into quarter 2, middle school students will continue to attend elective classes grouped by grade-level.

WCA's Parent-Teacher Club (PTC) would like your help to treat our teachers and staff with Boo Baskets! Families can put together a fun basket of treats ($10 suggested value) with candy, gift cards, or other trinkets!

Thank you for your patience as we continue to revise or dismissal process. We have designed this to support families who also pick up at the elementary school. Our Driveline system is working very well to help students socially distance during dismissal.

Students will have a few modified days of learning as we transition to a 4-day hybrid learning schedule.

Due to COVID-19, we are asking all families to check our webpage frequently for updates to menu items. Online families (Calvert, Courseware, and EdOptions families) can sign sign up for weekly meal packages.

This semester, all parent-teacher conferences will be held via Zoom. Zoom meetings will be set up by individual teachers between September 28th and October 7th.

Each year, Colorado state public schools participate in the October Student Count as required by the Colorado Department of Education. The purpose of this count is to determine an official number of students enrolled in each school. This year, the count will occur from September 24th through October 8th. Our school receives state funding based on the number of students present during this time period.

Student pictures have arrived and have been distributed to students in their advisory classes! Students also received a colored break-away lanyard.

Picture retakes will be taken on the following days:

• Group A: September 29th

• Group B: October 1st

• Online Courseware Learners: September 30th from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Due to the WCA Teacher Professional Development Day on Friday, September 18th, our Group B schedule will be modified. In-person hybrid learners in Group B will be in the building on Wednesday, September 16th and Thursday, September 17th. Wednesday will be a navy day and Thursday will be a green day.

WCA will begin enforcing use of acceptable face coverings only.
